Crossing Cultures, Piece of Mind:
Personal Development, Gaining Ground:
Campaigning and Connecting:
The Crossing Cultures & Gaining Ground project will also hold user-run annual pan-London conferences and local events, bringing together the different aspects of the project. These events will focus on bringing people together, sharing common experiences, celebrating our different cultures, exploring ways to define and articulate our needs, looking at ways to campaign and improve services, build confidence, manage our own well-being, and achieve personal goals.
We have learned from the previous Kindred Minds project that there is a definite need for a user-run BME project at Southwark Mind, not only because of the over-representation of BME people within the mental health system but also because of the growing population of people from BME backgrounds in Southwark. The project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund for 3 years to end in 2013. And so we wish to express our biggest appreciation to them, for their on-going support and understanding whilst the changes in Southwark Mind. <
